The areas bordering the East and South of Night City are an eclectic mix of different landscapes. With miles of landfills and miasma that blows all the way into the city, soil saturated with chemicals and acid rain ensuring nothing will ever grow on them, Biotechnica protein farms, and the Jackson Plains power plant stretching to the South, the Badlands is a picture-perfect apocalypse. And then there are the Nomads, many of whom will prey on unsuspecting passersby that wander into their path.
If you think Night City is dangerous, just wait till you get to the Badlands.
For $50, the Families and Outcasts expansion adds the 7th district, the Badlands, to the board — a new region for exploration during the game. It also brings 1 brand-new story and 2 more gangs to the game, the Aldecaldos and the Wraiths, also increasing the game's maximum player count to 5!

Let’s explore the different features this expansion brings to the game:
The Badlands district board is a 4-fold game board that is attached to the bottom right corner of Night City, mirroring the geography of the Cyberpunk 2077 in-game location.
The Badlands district is adjacent to Westbrook, Santo Domingo, and Pacifica. Its unique Point of Interest awards the player who controls it all 3 advantages of the regular Points of Interest at the same time. While this may become the most coveted Point of Interest in the game, you'll also notice that the Badlands provide no district rewards.
Do you send precious units to reinforce a barren outpost for the sake of its perks, or risk losing it to the next posergang that comes along?
Families and Outcasts expansion comes with 2 new gangs, the Aldecaldos and the Wraiths. When playing the expansion the game also becomes expandable to 5 players.
The Aldecaldos start with a single hideout in the Badlands and do not build any more hideouts throughout the game. This means they cannot earn any district rewards from Night City as dominance requires a hideout. They also can't earn any from the Badlands as that district does not provide rewards.
Comparative to the gangs in the core box, the Aldecaldos play very differently when RECLAIMING. An ability called "CLAN FAMILY" allows the Aldecaldos to gain multiple resources based on how large the Aldecaldos Nation is. The bigger your crew, the better the rewards!
The Aldecaldos pride themselves on family and loyalty. So, it’s no surprise they oftentimes choose to show their opponents mercy in battle. The Aldecaldos focus on converting and recruiting opposing units to build their gang strength. Today's enemies are tomorrow's allies.
The Wraiths hit hard and fast around the Badlands, preventing any other player from claiming District Rewards. While they have no home in Night City and need to regroup to the Badlands after every RECLAIM, playing the Wraiths makes you an extremely dangerous adversary, and your opponents should do their best to stay clear of your warpath.
After every firefight, you will leave one of your three RAIDED tokens on the District rewards. This means that no opponent will be able to claim that reward for as long as that token remains there.
On your next RECLAIM, every district that has a RAIDED token is returned to you, and you gain all rewards from every one of those districts, regardless of Dominance. Brutal and totally cutthroat.
The corporate machine is trying to claim the Badlands for itself, offering piles of scratch for everyone to stay out of their way, but the Badlands is home to many. What is the true price of our freedom?
Land Grab has players taking sides in a political conflict over the state of the Badlands. Players can choose to Support the cause or Rebel against it. Lose your home but earn a quick buck, or try to defend it against a large corporation that may just have a little more firepower than you think? The choice is yours.

Panam’s dangerous at any range, in or out of a Firefight. By simply discarding a Combat card with at least 3 Firepower, she immediately takes out any unit in ANY district with her sniper rifle with absolute precision. They can run… but they can’t hide.
